Corinth Learning Journeys: Éva Tóth, Hungary
We hope that school year was great and you are catching up with relaxation and gaining new energy for the next one. We are coming up with a new and inspiring story of Eva Toth for our next part of Learning Journeys.
Eva is an English teacher in Nagykáta Ipari Szakközépiskola és Szakiskola school, Hungary, where she does a great job working with kids who have a socialization or behaviour problems. We´ve been in touch with her for some time and we´re amazed by all the ideas constantly bursting out of her head. There’s a plenty of great projects and awards behind Eva, in our previous posts we wrote about one of them, 3Discover your world, which was awarded with a prestigious European Quality Label. Get inspired and check out her lesson plan below!
However, Eva and her zealous students didn’t rest on their laurels and created another amazing project. They call it Beautilicious and it focuses on Beauty and its interpratations. From a wide range of Corinth Classroom interactive models they chose these linked with Human Body, such as skin or hair. Then they shared their ideas with school kids in Italy, Romania,Turkey and other countries. How? They used a similar technique as the one you may remember from Finland meets Florida project. This time students connected through Etwinning, a networking platform enhanced by European Commision. Main aim of this initiative is to spur on the schools around Europe to collaborate, develop collective projects and twin their mindsets.
What are the benefits of this kind of projects? “There are many 21st century learning skills involved in the project, such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration, ICT and real life skills," asured Eva. Moreover the “kids did not even realize that they were learning! Well, I think this is what every teacher dreams about, isn´t it?” added Eva.
